ARTS IN EDUCATION SPOTLIGHT: Incredible Interns

Our interns are an integral part of the AIE team each spring, helping us bring over 150 arts residencies, performances and workshops to schools, senior centers, parks and community centers throughout NYC. This spring, we were thrilled to have 2 administrative interns: Andrew Anzel and Midori Buntin.

Andrew

Andrew, an Educational Theater student at NYU, brought with him an impressive level of understanding of Arts in Education in NYC and a speedy work ethic that pushed us to keep up!

“I really enjoyed reading and giving feedback on the residency arcs because I was able to read lesson plans around art disciplines which I am not too familiar with. For example, there were several mosaic and mural residency arcs which put a lot of focus on public art and collaborative decision making.”
Midori came to us through the Center for Art Education’s (CAE) Career Development Program and captured lovely photographs of several of our programs.

In her words:
“After taking photos documenting the Red Hook Community Justice Center JustArts Photography Program for Brooklyn Arts Council, I feel that I have learned some of the elements that make up a good picture. The photos show a very active, passionate group of individuals who are serious about photography and the program.”
